Production of high-precision PTFE parts with Haas UMC-750 machine

5-axis machining of PTFE parts.

We show the 5-axis machining process of technical plastic parts. It can be seen how the cutting tool moves along the linear axes and in turn rotates on two other axes, producing geometries and sizes of PTFE parts efficiently.

In the machining section of Merefsa we have a large fleet of machinery, including the Haas UMC-750. In this 5-axis centre, the cutting tool is automatically selected from the high-capacity side-mounted tool changer. Once set up, it moves along the X, Y and Z linear axes and rotates along the A and B axes to work on the workpiece from any position, producing all five sides of a part at once. We manage to minimise handling, delivery times and maximise product quality.
