At MEREFSA, we manufacture sponge silicone profiles with a standard off-white color and a density of 0.25 gr/cm³. However, we offer the possibility to develop custom profiles, adapting to the specific needs of each application in terms of color, shape, and density.
Product Information
Our sponge silicone profile and seal extrusion process is carried out with a standard off-white color and a density of 0.25 gr/cm³. However, we offer the possibility to manufacture in a wide range of colors, subject to a minimum quantity, and with densities of 0.3 gr/cm³, 0.4 gr/cm³, 0.5 gr/cm³, 0.6 gr/cm³, and 0.8 gr/cm³, adapting to the specific needs of each application.
Spongy Silicone profiles Extrusion
We manufacture sponge silicone seals through extrusion in a wide variety of formats, including cords with diameters ranging from 2 mm to 75 mm, rectangular and square profiles from 2 mm x 2 mm to 75 mm x 75 mm, as well as tubes with inner diameters starting from 2 mm and outer diameters up to 100 mm.
Our advanced extrusion process allows us to supply sponge silicone profiles and seals in any shape, based on drawings or samples, with standard lengths of 25 m, 50 m, 100 m, 250 m, and 500 m. Additionally, upon request, we offer custom dimensions and pieces cut with precision down to 1 mm in length.
We have specialized formulations for high-temperature applications, with resistance up to +250 ºC, as well as FDA-certified options for food contact compliance. We also offer specific compounds for the railway sector, complying with the European standard EN 45545.
Applications
Although there is no specific manual for its use, we recommend using sponge silicone profiles in applications where it is necessary to absorb differences in the tolerances of the materials to be sealed or welded, as well as in cases where significant compression of the material is required, ensuring excellent elastic memory.
We do not recommend their use in processes subjected to high mechanical stresses. For these cases, we offer custom solutions by manufacturing welded gaskets custom-made from any sponge silicone seal.
